Clément Denys

Clément Denys is a 27 year-old French drummer playing for the Progressive Death Metal band Fractal Universe, recently signed to the American label Metal Blade Records. Besides, he also works as a studio and live session drummer, and as a drum teacher. Clément started playing drums at the age of 12. He studied with teachers such as Olivier Baldissera (David Halliday, Angun), Jelly Cardarelli (Klone, Adagio) and Laurent Bochetti. He joined Fractal Universe in 2015 and starts rigorously working on his instrument to match with the band’s high technical requirements.

In 2016, he became session drummer for Benighted Soul and Miles to Perdition, with whom he got to play Wacken Open Air. After graduating with a Master Degree in September 2017, he decided to focus on his professional musical career.

Within 18 months, he opened his own recording studio, Boundless Production Studio, a music school, recorded many albums and played over 80 shows all over Europe. 2019 and 2020 are key points in Fractal Universe’s career as the band opened for acts such as Cannibal Corpse, Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder and took part in a 22 shows European Tour with the legendary Obscura.

Clément is working on several albums and just released his first drum method « Drum Vocabulary Expansion », a fill collection for begginers and advanced drummers looking for a bunch of fresh ideas.
